Defect
The control program in the EV ECU that governs the electric brake vacuum pump — which supplies negative pressure to the brake booster — is incorrect, causing the ECU to falsely determine that the relay contacts are stuck. As a result, the brake warning light illuminates and an audible warning sounds, and the electric brake vacuum pump stops operating. Continued use under these conditions may extend stopping distance.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the EV ECU with the corrected software.

状況
ブレーキ倍力装置に負圧を供給するブレーキ負圧電動ポンプを制御するEV ECUの 制御プログラムが不適切なため、リレー接点が固着したと誤判定する場合がある。そのため、ブレーキ警告灯が点灯するとともに警告音が鳴り、ブレーキ負圧電動ポンプが停止し、そのままの状態で使用すると制動距離が長くなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、EV ECUのプログラムを対策品に書き替える。
