Defect
Improper installation of the cable tie securing the starter cable leaves insufficient clearance between the starter cable and the muffler cover at the exhaust temperature sensor section of the UDPC (diesel particulate filter). Continued use in this condition allows the corrugated tube sheathing the cable to contact and melt against the muffler cover. In the worst case, the starter cable insulation melts and a short circuit occurs, preventing the engine from starting.
Corrective action
Inspect the starter cable tie position on all vehicles. If incorrectly positioned, reposition it to the correct location and add a cable tie to secure adequate clearance from the muffler cover. If the corrugated tube shows melt damage, repair it with a new corrugated tube. If the starter cable insulation is melted, replace the cable with a new one.

状況
スタータケーブルを固定するための結束バンド取付作業が不適切なため、スタータケーブルとＵＤＰＣ（ディーゼル微粒子除去装置）の排気温度センサー部のマフラーカバーの隙間が少ないものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該ケーブルの外装コルゲートチューブがマフラーカバーと干渉することで溶損し、最悪の場合、スタータケーブルの被覆が溶損し短絡するため、エンジンの始動ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、スタータケーブルの結束バンド位置を点検し、不適切な場合には正規位置に修正するとともに、マフラーカバーとの隙間を確保するための結束バンドを追加する。また、コルゲートチューブに溶損がある場合は、新品のコルゲートチューブで修理し、スタータケーブルの被覆に溶損がある場合には、新品ケーブルと交換する。
