Defect
The manufacturing process for a circuit element that monitors the microcomputer supply voltage inside the electric power steering control unit (EPS ECU) is inappropriate, causing some elements to exhibit abnormal electrical characteristics. As a result, the supply voltage monitoring circuit may malfunction, causing the information display to show "Power Steering System Inspection," the EPS power assist function to shut off, and steering effort to increase.
Corrective action
Replace the EPS ECU on all vehicles with the corrected part.

状況
①電動パワーステアリングコントロールユニット(EPS ECU)内部のマイコン電源電圧を監視する回路の素子の製造工程が不適切なため、素子が特性不良となったものがある。そのため、電源電圧監視回路が誤作動し、インフォメーション画面に「パワーステアリングシステム点検」を表示するとともに、EPSのアシスト機能が停止し、ハンドルの操舵力が増大するおそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両、EPS ECUを対策品に交換する。
