Defect

The battery cable on the work engine is inadequately secured, allowing it to contact the sharp edge of the chassis frame. Continued operation in this condition wears through the cable insulation, causing a short circuit. In the worst case, the short circuit may ignite an adjacent fuel hose and result in a vehicle fire.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, the existing battery cable is removed and re-routed. The replacement cable is properly protected and secured to prevent contact with frame edges, and is positioned away from the fuel hose.

状況

作業用エンジンのバッテリ配線の固定方法が不十分なため、シャシフレームのエッジ部とバッテリ配線が干渉するものがある。 そのため、そのままの使用を続けると、バッテリ配線の被覆に傷がついて短絡し、最悪の場合、当該配線の近傍にある燃料ホースへ引火して、車両の火災に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、現状のバッテリ配線を取り外し、フレームなどのエッジ部に干渉しない様適切に保護、固定すると共に燃料ホースと別の位置に新たに敷設する。
