Defect
The control software for the electric power steering (EPS) control computer is incorrect. When the vehicle is driven at high speed over rumble strips installed for lane departure warning, the computer may misinterpret the resulting vibration and shut down EPS assist. This causes the steering to become heavy.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the entire steering column tube assembly with one incorporating a corrected/revised part control computer.

状況
電動式パワーステアリング制御用コンピュータのプログラムが不適切なため、車線逸脱警告用に凹凸を施した路面を高速で走行すると、路面からの振動を誤判定し、パワステ機能が停止することにより、ハンドルが重くなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、制御用コンピュータの対策品が組み込まれたステアリングコラムチューブ全体を交換する。
