Defect
The engine control computer contains an incorrect EGR valve control program. Repeated accelerator pedal operation can cause the EGR valve opening to deviate from the commanded position, preventing the valve from closing fully. As a result, exhaust gas continuously recirculates, causing engine malfunction. In the worst case, the engine may stall while driving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control computer with the corrected software.

状況
エンジン制御用コンピュータにおいて、排気ガス再循環（ＥＧＲ）バルブの制御プログラムが不適切なため、アクセルペダルの操作を繰り返すと、制御指示に対しＥＧＲバルブの開度がずれて閉じなくなることがある。そのため、排気ガスが常時循環してエンジン不調となり、最悪の場合、走行中にエンジンが停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エンジン制御用コンピュータのプログラムを対策仕様に修正する。
