Defect
On vehicles equipped with side turn signal lamps, the hazard warning switch contacts have insufficient durability. Current flow during switch operation generates arc discharge, causing the contacts to wear. In the worst case, the hazard warning lights may fail to illuminate.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the hazard warning switch and the flasher unit with corrected parts.
