Defect
On engine-powered forklifts equipped with diesel engines, the starter cable retaining nuts may not have been tightened to the specified torque during assembly. The nuts may loosen over time. Continued operation allows poor electrical contact to cause excessive current flow in the starter relay circuit, which may blow the fuse and prevent the engine from starting.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the starter cable retaining nut washers with spring washers and tighten to the specified torque.

状況
エンジン式フォークリフトのディーゼルエンジン搭載車において、スタータケーブルの締め付けナットが適切に締め付けられていないものがあるため、当該ナットが緩む場合がある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、接触不良によりスタータリレー回路に過大な電流が流れ、ヒューズ切れによりエンジンが始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、スタータケーブルの締め付けナット用ワッシャをスプリングワッシャに変更し、規定トルクで締め付ける。
