Defect

In the steering system, one of the two bolts securing the knuckle arm to the steering knuckle was improperly heat-treated during manufacturing, resulting in insufficient strength. This causes the affected bolt to fail prematurely. In the worst case, both bolts may fracture, allowing the knuckle arm to detach and resulting in loss of steering control.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the affected bolt with a conforming part. If the affected bolt is found to be damaged, replace the remaining bolt with a new part as well.

状況

かじ取り装置において、ナックルアームをナックルに固定するボルト2本のうち1本について、熱処理が不適切なため、強度が不足しているものがある。そのため、早期に当該ボルトが破損し、最悪の場合、2本とも折損し、ナックルアームが外れて操舵不能となるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該ボルトを良品と交換する。なお、当該ボルトが損傷している場合には、他のボルトも新品と交換する。
