Defect
The air vent pipe of the fuel tank, which maintains constant pressure inside the tank, has an improper structural design. At specific engine speeds, the pipe resonates and may develop cracks at the brazed joint where it meets the bottom of the fuel tank. Continued use allows fuel to leak from the cracked joint.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fuel tank with a corrected part.
