Defect
In the fuel system, the metal filter at the tip of the in-tank fuel pump contacts the inner wall of the fuel tank. When water accumulates in the tank, galvanic corrosion develops at the contact point between the tank and the metal filter, producing rust that may perforate the tank and cause a fuel leak.
Corrective action
1. On all vehicles, replace the rubber cover at the tip of the fuel lift pump with a corrected/revised part and add a resin strap to the mounting bracket. 2. On all vehicles, inspect the fuel tank; if rust is present on the bottom of the tank, replace the fuel tank with a new unit.

状況
燃料装置において、燃料タンク内の燃料ポンプ先端の金属製フィルターと燃料タンク内壁 とが接触しているものがあるため、タンク内に水が溜まると、タンクと金属製フィルター 間で電食が起きて接触部位からタンクに錆びが発生してタンクに穴があき燃料が漏れ出る おそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両、燃料汲み上げポンプ先端のゴム製カバーを対策品に交換するとともに、吊り下 げ金具に樹脂製のベルトを追加する。 ②全車両、燃料タンクを点検し、タンクの底部に錆があるものは燃料タンクを新品に交換 する。
