Defect
During the manufacturing process, the bearing for the pinion shaft in the steering gear box may not have been installed. Without the bearing, the pinion shaft is not securely retained. In the worst case, the pinion shaft may disengage entirely, resulting in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
Replace the steering gear box assembly on all vehicles with a conforming unit.

状況
かじ取り装置のステアリングギヤにおいて、製造工程でピニオンシャフトのベアリングが組みつけられていないものがある。そのため、ピニオンシャフトが確実に保持されず、最悪の場合、ピニオンシャフトが抜けて、操舵が出来なくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ステアリングギヤ一式を良品と交換する。
