Defect
The insulation on the engine control wiring lacks sufficient abrasion resistance. Engine vibration causes the insulation at wiring bend points to rub against the corrugated protective conduit, resulting in wear damage. Continued operation in this condition may cause the wiring to short circuit or develop a disconnection, stalling the engine. In the worst case, the engine cannot be restarted. Note: This recall supersedes the original filing under Notification No. 1239, dated September 22, 2004. A portion of the originally identified vehicles was incorrectly selected; this filing adds the affected vehicles omitted from that submission.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected engine control wiring with a revised part incorporating a roll-tube protective conduit. For wiring attached to the injection pump, inspect the insulation and perform the following based on its condition: (1) If wear damage has exposed the conductor: replace the injection pump assembly with a corrected part. (2) If wear damage is present but the conductor is not exposed: repair the wiring and replace the protective conduit with a corrected part. (3) If no damage is found: replace the protective conduit with a corrected part.

状況
エンジン制御用電気配線において、配線被覆の耐摩耗性が不足しているため、エンジン振動等により、電気配線の屈曲部の配線被覆が電気配線保護管（コルゲートチューブ）と擦れて摩耗損傷するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、電気配線がショートまたは断線してエンジンが停止し、最悪の場合、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。 備考）本件は、平成１６年９月２２日付け「届出番号１２３９」にてリコール届出を行ったものですが、対象車両の選定に一部誤りがあったため、対象車両を追加し、新たに届出するものです。
改善措置
全車両、当該電気配線を電気配線保護管（ロールチューブ）付の対策品に交換する。また、噴射ポンプに付属する電気配線については、被覆を点検し、その状態により以下の措置を行なう。 ①損傷により芯線の露出がある場合：噴射ポンプ一式を対策品と交換する。 ②損傷はあるが芯線の露出がない場合：配線を修理するとともに電気配線保護管を対策品に交換する。 ③損傷がない場合：電気配線保護管を対策品に交換する。
