Defect

The chassis electrical wiring routed near the air conditioning condenser is improperly routed, allowing it to contact the refrigerant piping. Vibration during driving causes the wiring to sustain a broken wire. In the worst case, the engine stalls and cannot be restarted.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the affected area for contact between the wiring and refrigerant piping. Where contact exists, replace the refrigerant piping with a corrected part. If the electrical wiring is damaged, repair it.
