Defect
The notch groove on the rack that controls fuel injection quantity in the fuel injection pump has insufficient strength, and the method of mounting the fuel injection pump to the engine is improper. Continued operation at high engine speeds causes the rack to fracture, leading to a rise in engine speed. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may occur. This recall supplements notification No. 1241, dated September 22, 2004, due to an error in the original vehicle selection; additional vehicles are added under this new filing.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the part number of the injection pump. If the pump is an affected unit, replace it with an injection pump incorporating a revised rack material and geometry, and add a bracket to the injection pump.

状況
燃料噴射ポンプの燃料噴射量を制御するラックの切欠き溝の強度が不十分なため、及び燃料噴射ポンプの原動機への取付方法が不適切なため、高回転域での使用を続けると当該ラックが折損し、エンジン回転が上昇して、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。 本件は、平成16年9月22日付「届出番号1241」にてリコール届出を行ったものですが、対象車の選定に一部誤りがあったため、対象車両を追加し、新たに届出するものです。
改善措置
全車両、噴射ポンプの品番を点検し、該当品はラックの材質および形状を変更した噴射ポンプに交換し、噴射ポンプにブラケットを追加する。
