Defect
On vehicles equipped with power steering, the knuckle arm has insufficient strength. Repeated full-lock steering or high-frequency steering operation causes cracks to develop in the arm. Continued use in this condition can progress to complete fracture of the knuckle arm, resulting in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
For newly added vehicles only: replace the knuckle arm with the corrected part.

状況
パワーステアリング装着車において、ナックルアームの強度が不足しているため、据切りの多用や操舵頻度の高い走行を繰り返すと、当該アームに亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、ナックルアームが折損して操舵不能となるおそれがある。 備考)本件は、平成16年10月20日付「届出番号1278」にてリコール届出を行ったものですが、対象車の選定に集計ミスがあったため、対象車を追加、訂正し、新たに届出するものです。(平成17年12月14日)
改善措置
本届出では、新規追加車両のみ、ナックルアームを対策品と交換する。
