Defect
On light trucks with a front solid-axle suspension, the dust boot seal design on the tie-rod end ball joint is inadequate, allowing mud and water to enter the joint. This causes wear of the resin bearing, producing play. Continued use increases the play and, in the worst case, may cause the ball joint to separate from the tie rod, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, replace the complete tie-rod end assembly with the corrected part. Because full parts supply will take time, an interim measure requires inspection of each joint; joints showing play or boot damage are to be replaced with corrected parts immediately, while joints showing no defect are to be replaced with corrected parts at a later date. Additionally, enhanced inspection and maintenance procedures for this area will be communicated to raise user awareness during periodic inspections.

状況
前輪車軸懸架方式の小型トラックのタイロッドエンドのボールジョイントにおいて、ダ ストブーツのシール構造が不適切なため、当該ジョイントへ泥水等が浸入し、樹脂ベアリ ングが摩耗してガタが発生することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると ガタが増大し、最悪の場合、ボールジョイントがタイロッドから外れ走行不能になるおそ れがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該タイロッドエンド一式を対策品と交換する。 なお、部品の全数供給に時間を要するため、当面の暫定措置として当該ジョイントを点検 し、ガタまたはブーツの損傷がある場合は対策品に交換し、問題のない場合は後日対策品 に交換する。 また、当該部位の点検整備内容を充実させ周知することにより、定期点検へのユーザの注 意を喚起する。
