Defect
The contact geometry inside the headlight switch is inadequate, causing accelerated contact wear. Wear debris allows sliding grease to migrate onto the contacts, forming an insulating deposit. As a result, the headlights may intermittently fail to illuminate. Continued use increases electrical resistance at the contacts, causing overheating that melts the resin components and extinguishes the headlights.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the headlight switch with the corrected part.

状況
①前照灯スイッチ内部の接点の形状が不適切なため、接点の摩耗が早くなり、摩耗粉を伝って摺動グリースが当該接点に付着し絶縁物が生成されることがある。そのため、前照灯が時々点灯しなくなり、そのまま使用を続けると、当該接点の電気抵抗が増加して過熱し、樹脂部が溶損して消灯するおそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両、前照灯スイッチを対策品に交換する。
