Defect
Insufficient water protection for the battery allows rainwater to reach the top of the battery. When a non-original replacement battery is installed, rainwater may enter the battery through the filler port depending on its shape. The resulting increase in battery fluid volume causes fluid to leak onto the ABS hydraulic unit and brake pipes, leading to corrosion. In the worst case, brake fluid leaks and braking force is reduced. This recall is issued because corrective measures taken under recall notification No. 1060 dated April 8, 2004 were insufficient, and additional corrective action is required.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the ABS hydraulic unit and brake pipes; replace any corroded components with new parts. Additionally, replace the battery cover and battery tray with corrected parts on all vehicles, and install a new battery box.

状況
バッテリーの被水対策が十分されていないため、バッテリー上面に雨水等がかかるものがあり、出荷時に装着されたバッテリー以外に交換した場合に、バッテリー液注入口の形状によっては雨水等がバッテリー内に浸入するものがある。そのため、バッテリー液量が増加しバッテリー液が漏れてＡＢＳハイドロリックユニット及びブレーキパイプにかかり腐食して、最悪の場合、ブレーキ液が漏れて制動力が低下するおそれがある。 本届出は、平成１６年４月８日「届出番号１０６０」のリコール届出において、不具合に対する改善措置の内容が不十分であったため、再度対策を行なうものである。
改善措置
全車両、ＡＢＳハイドロリックユニット及びブレーキパイプを点検して、腐食しているものはそれぞれ新品と交換する。また、全車両、バッテリーカバー及びバッテリートレイを対策品に交換するとともに、新たにバッテリーボックスを装着する。
