Defect
In the continuously variable transmission (CVT), the clutch that switches the power transmission path is improperly designed. Depending on how the transmission is operated, the clutch may seize, resulting in poor acceleration or failure to shift.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the continuously variable transmission with the improved unit.
