Defect
In vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, the geometry of the turbine blade roots inside the torque converter is incorrect. Repeated high-load operation causes the brazed joints at those roots to detach, deforming the turbine blades. Continued use reduces power transmission efficiency and, in the worst case, causes the turbine blades to fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the automatic transmission serial number. Any vehicle not yet equipped with the corrected part must have the complete automatic transmission assembly replaced with the corrected part.

状況
自動変速機搭載車において、トルクコンバータ内部のタービンブレード付け根の形状が不適切なため、高負荷運転を繰返すと、当該付け根のろう付け部が剥離し、タービンブレードが変形するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、動力伝達効率が低下し、最悪の場合、タービンブレードが破損し、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、自動変速機の製造番号を確認のうえ、対策品が未装着の車両は、自動変速機一式を対策品と交換する。
