Defect
On front-axle-type minibuses, the dust boot seal design on the tie rod end ball joint is inadequate, allowing mud and water to enter the joint. This causes wear of the resin bearing, producing play. Continued operation allows the play to increase, and in the worst case, the ball joint may separate from the tie rod, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
Replace the complete affected tie rod end assembly with a corrected part. Additionally, enhance and communicate the inspection and maintenance procedures for this area to alert owners to include it in periodic inspections.

状況
前軸車軸方式の小型バスのタイロッドエンドのボールジョイントにおいて、ダストブーツのシール構造が不適切なため、当該ジョイントへ泥水等が浸入し、樹脂ベアリングが摩耗してガタが発生することがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けるとガタが増大し、最悪の場合、ボールジョイントがタイロッドから外れ走行不能になるおそれがある。
改善措置
当該タイロッドエンド一式を対策品と交換する。 また、当該部位の点検整備内容を充実させ周知することにより、定期点検へのユーザの注意を喚起する。
