Defect

The wall thickness at the base of the rear hub flange is insufficient, resulting in inadequate strength. Repeated high-frequency turning maneuvers can cause cracks to develop at that location. Where additional factors such as machining defects are present near the flange base, stress concentrates and crack initiation may accelerate. Continued use allows the crack to propagate and, in the worst case, the flange may fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Note: The number of vehicles subject to this recall reflects domestic production figures.

Corrective action

Replace the rear hub on all vehicles with the corrected part. Because verification of the corrected part and full supply availability require additional time, the following interim measures apply: (1) Where cracks are found in the hub, replace it with the current latest-production hub. (2) Where no cracks are found, advise the owner of the condition and provide appropriate usage precautions.

状況

リヤハブのフランジ付け根の肉厚が薄く強度が不足しているため、旋回頻度の高い走行を 繰り返した場合などに、当該部分に亀裂が発生するものがある。またフランジ付け根付近 の加工不良などの要因が重なると応力が集中し、この亀裂の発生が早まる可能性がある。 このため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると亀裂が進行し、最悪の場合、当該部分が破断 して走行不能となるおそれがある。 　 （備考） リコール対象車の台数は、国内向け生産台数を示す。

改善措置

全車両、リヤハブを対策品と交換する。 なお、対策品の検証と全数供給に時間を要するため、暫定措置としてリヤハブの亀裂の有 無を点検し、次の対応を行う。 ①亀裂のあるハブは現行の最新型ハブに交換する。 ②亀裂のない場合は、その旨を使用者に説明し、使用上の注意喚起を行う。
