Defect

Improper machining of the cylinder block in the hydraulic travel motors has caused wear in some of the nine bore holes, reducing the motor's volumetric efficiency and gradually decreasing drive force. Continued use allows the wear to progress and volumetric efficiency to decline further, leading to loss of steering control and, in the worst case, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the left and right cylinder blocks with corrected/revised parts incorporating a modified heat treatment process, and replace the swash plates with corrected/revised parts.
