Defect
The serration fit between the steering shaft and the steering gearbox joint is improperly matched. Continued use causes wear at the serration interface, which may progress to insufficient engagement and, in the worst case, result in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the steering shaft with a corrected part and simultaneously replace the gearbox with a new unit. (As an interim measure pending supply of the corrected part, apply Loctite to the serration and ensure the lock bolt is torqued securely; replacement of the steering shaft and gearbox will follow at a later date.)

状況
ステアリングシャフトとギヤボックスの継手の嵌合部(セレーション)の組合せが不適切で ある。このため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると当該セレーション部が摩耗し、最悪の 場合、噛み合い不足となり操舵不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ステアリングシャフトを対策品に交換すると同時に、ギアボックスを新品に交換 する。 (対策品の供給に時間を要することから、当面の暫定措置として、当該部のセレーション にロックタイトを塗布の上、ロックボルトの締め付けを確実に行い、後日、ステアリング シャフトおよびギヤボックスの交換を実施する。)
