Defect
On rear dual-axle drive vehicles, the thread strength at the coupling mount of the front drive-side input shaft (inter-differential case outer) that connects the propeller shaft is insufficient. The threaded section may fracture, allowing the propeller shaft to disengage from the drive axle and rendering the vehicle inoperable. Note: Applies to final reduction ratio 3.818 and below — FS/FV GVW 25 t, FS/FY GVW 21 t and above.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the inter-differential case outer with the corrected part.
