Defect
On the motorcycle braking system, the joint between the right brake cable's equalizer-side connector and the cable bracket—part of the linked braking mechanism (equalizer) that operates both wheels simultaneously—is improperly designed. When the left brake lever is applied and the handlebar is turned left or right, the cable connector twists and becomes pinched by the cable bracket. If the right brake lever is then applied forcefully in this condition, the resin cover on the cable connector breaks. In the worst case, the connector separates from the cable bracket, causing the front brake to stop responding when the right lever is operated.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the right brake cable and cable bracket with corrected parts.
