Defect
In the engine starting system, the battery terminal assembly on the starter motor solenoid switch is improperly assembled on some units. Continued use causes the insulating resin bush at the terminal to deteriorate and crack. If fluid containing salt or other conductive contaminants contacts the terminal, a short circuit may occur. In the worst case, the solenoid switch burns and the fire spreads inside the engine compartment.
Corrective action
Inspect all vehicles. On any vehicle fitted with the affected starter motor, replace the solenoid switch with a conforming part.

状況
原動機の始動装置において、スターターモータ指導用電磁スイッチのバッテリーからの電 気端子の組立に不適切なものがあるため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該端子部 の絶縁用樹脂ブッシュが劣化してひび割れを起こし、塩分等を含んだ液体がかかると当該 端子部で短絡をすることがあり、最悪の場合、電磁スイッチが焼損し、原動機室内が延焼 するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両点検し、対象となるスターターモータを装着している車両は、良品の電磁スイッチ に交換する。
