Defect

On vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the shift mechanism mounting section of the steering column has insufficient structural strength. Repeated shift operations using excessive force may cause cracks to develop at the mounting section. In the worst case, the mounting section may fracture and render the shift mechanism inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the affected steering column with the corrected part.

状況

手動変速機付車のステアリングコラムにおいて、シフト機構取付部の強度に余裕がないた め、過大な力でシフト操作を繰り返すと当該取付部に亀裂が生じるものがあり、最悪の場 合、取付部が破損してシフト操作ができなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該ステアリングコラムを対策品に交換する。
