Defect
The air conditioner high-pressure hose is improperly assembled, allowing the crimp section of the hose to contact the rear wiring harness. Vehicle vibration and related movement can abrade and tear the harness insulation, causing a short circuit. In the worst case, the wiring may burn.
Corrective action
Inspect the air conditioner high-pressure hose routing on all vehicles and correct the installation where the hose contacts the rear harness. Replace the harness on any vehicle where harness damage is found.
