Defect

During the manufacturing process for the front axle, hairline cracks developed internally in the steel material of certain units, resulting in insufficient strength. Continued use may cause cracks to form on the lower end of the axle and, in the worst case, cause the front axle to fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the lot number of the front axle. If the lot number is 12-2, 12-3, or 12-4, replace the front axle with a conforming unit.

状況

前車軸を製造する過程において、一部の鋼材内部にヘアクラック(微細なひび)が発生し たため、強度の不足しているものがあり、このままの状態で使用を続けると、当該車軸の 端部下面に亀裂が入り、最悪の場合、前車軸が折損して走行できなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、前車軸のロット番号を点検し、ロット番号が12-2、12-3、12-4のも のは、前車軸を良品と交換する。
