Defect
On vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, the heat shield plug protecting the bearing that supports the rotor of the pressure wave supercharger (PWS) from exhaust gases has insufficient strength. The heat shield plug may fracture. Continued use may cause insufficient lubrication, leading to bearing seizure, rotor lockup, loss of air supply to the combustion chamber, engine stall, and inability to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, verify the supercharger serial number. If the vehicle is within the affected range, replace the supercharger with the corrected part.

状況
ディーゼルエンジン搭載車において、過給機(PWS:プレッシャーウェーブスーパーチャージャ)の ]体(ローター)を支える軸受(ベアリング)を排気ガスから保護する遮熱栓の強度がs 足しているため、当該遮熱栓が破損するものがあり、このままの状態で使用を続けるとA 潤滑不良により当該ベアリングが焼き付き、ローターが固着して燃焼室に空気が供給でォ なくなり、エンジンが停止し、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、過給機の製造番号を確認し、対象となる場合は、過給機を対策品と交換する。
