Defect
On vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, the hydraulic pipe support bracket (stay) welded to the power steering oil tank has insufficient strength. Engine vibration and related forces may cause the stay to fracture. Continued use may cause the stay to detach along with the tank weld, perforating the oil tank, resulting in an oil leak and a significant increase in steering effort.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, remove the stay and the bracket retaining the hydraulic pipe, and replace the bracket retaining the oil pulsation damper with the corrected part. Inspect the oil tank weld; if damage is found, replace the oil tank with a new unit.

状況
ディーゼルエンジン搭載車の動力式かじ取り装置(パワーステアリング)用のオイルタ ンクに溶接している油圧パイプ支持金具(ステイ)の強度が不足しているため、原動機の 振動等によりステイが折損するものがあり、このままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場 合、当該ステイがオイルタンク溶接部とともに剥離するため、当該タンクに穴があき、オ イルが漏れ、ハンドルが重くなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ステイと油圧パイプを保持しているブラケットを取り外し、オイル脈動緩 衝装置を保持しているブラケットを対策品と交換するとともに、オイルタンクの溶接部を 点検し、損傷しているものはオイルタンクを新品と交換する。
