Defect
On fuel-powered vehicles, the spot welds joining the fuel tank upper plate to the internal baffle plate (which prevents fuel from sloshing during vehicle operation) are improperly made. Pressure fluctuations inside the tank caused by changes in fuel temperature subject the welds to excessive stress. Continued use may, in the worst case, cause cracks to develop at the welds and allow fuel to leak.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the fuel tank with the corrected part.

状況
ガソリンエンジン車に搭載されている燃料タンクにおいて、タンク上板とタンク内にあ るバッフルプレート(走行時の振動等による燃料の揺動を防止する板)とのスポット溶接 箇所が不適切なため、燃料温度の変化に伴うタンク内圧力の変動により、当該溶接部に過 大な力が加わり、このままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、溶接部に亀裂が発生し 、燃料が漏れるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、燃料タンクを対策品と交換する。
