Issue
The material used for the resin inlet cover inside the fuel pump is inappropriate. Prolonged exposure to the test fluid used during manufacturing causes the inlet cover to swell in service and contact the impeller. This interference increases rotational resistance, and wear debris generated at the contact point may become trapped between the inlet cover and the impeller. In the worst case, the fuel pump may stop, causing the engine to stall and preventing restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the fuel pump unit is replaced with a corrected part.

状況
燃料ポンプ内の樹脂製インレットカバーの材質が不適切なため、製造時に使用した試験油に長時間浸漬されると、使用過程において、当該インレットカバーが膨張し、インペラと干渉することがある。そのため、干渉部の抵抗が大きくなり、干渉部から生じた摩耗粉がインレットカバーとインペラ間に噛み込むと、最悪の場合、燃料ポンプが停止してエンストし、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、燃料ポンプユニットを対策品と交換する。
