Issue

The inspection procedure issued during a prior remedy campaign for the waterproof boot was inadequate, resulting in some vehicles not receiving proper inspection and replacement service. Continued use allows the cable to corrode with rust and, in the worst case, may prevent the throttle grip from returning to the closed position, causing engine speed to remain elevated.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the throttle cable identification. On any vehicle found to be affected, replace the complete throttle cable assembly with a new part.

状況

改善対策時の防水ブーツの点検作業指示が不適切なため、適正な点検交換作業がされなかったものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、ケーブルが錆び、最悪の場合、アクセルグリップが戻らなくなり、エンジンの回転が下がらなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、スロットルケーブルの識別を点検し、該当するものはスロットルケーブル一式を良品と交換する。
