Issue
In the power steering pump, the clearance of the spool valve—which regulates internal pressure to prevent it from exceeding the specified value—is too narrow on some units. If foreign matter (sand) enters the power steering fluid, the valve may lock. This causes internal pressure to rise and damages the pump internally, resulting in loss of hydraulic pressure. As a result, steering effort increases.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected pump with a conforming replacement unit.

状況
パワーステアリングポンプにおいて、内部圧力を規定値以上にならないように制御して いるスプールバルブのクリアランスに狭いものがあるため、パワーステアリングオイルに 異物（砂）が混入している場合、当該バルブがロックすることがある。そのため、内部圧 力が上昇し、当該ポンプ内部が損傷して圧力が発生しなくなり、ハンドルの操作力が増大 するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ポンプを良品と交換する。
