Defect
In the starting system, the coupler connecting the ignition switch lead wire to the wire harness has an inadequate design that allows water intrusion. Over time, water exposure corrodes the terminals inside the coupler, degrading electrical continuity. Continued use allows the corrosion to progress to the point of conduction failure, which may, in the worst case, cause the engine to stall while driving.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, add a waterproof cover to the coupler and inspect the coupler terminals. If corrosion is found, replace the ignition switch lead wire and the complete wire harness assembly.

状況
始動装置において、イグニッションスイッチリード線とワイヤーハーネスを接続するカプラの構造が不適切なため、使用過程において、当該カプラ内部の端子が、被水により腐食することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、腐食が進行して導通不良となり、最悪の場合、走行中にエンジンが停止するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、カプラに防水カバーを追加するとともに、カプラ端子部を点検し、腐食を確認した場合は、イグニッションスイッチリード線とワイヤーハーネス一式を交換する。
