Defect
In the engine starting system, the waterproof sealant applied to the starter magnetic switch was improperly filled, allowing sealant to penetrate into the terminal where the fuse is assembled. During service, the sealant softens, reducing contact pressure at the fuse terminal, which increases contact resistance and causes heat buildup. Continued use can melt the fuse assembly, resulting in a conduction failure that causes the engine to stall and prevents restart. Alternatively, the starter magnetic switch circuit may short circuit, in the worst case leading to a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the starter magnetic switch and replace it with a known-good unit. Also inspect the fuse coupler; if melting is found, replace the wire harness with a new unit.

状況
エンジンの始動装置において、スタータマグネチックスイッチの防水用シール剤の充填が不適切なため、シール剤がスタータマグネチックスイッチのヒューズを組付ける端子内部に浸入するものがある。そのため、使用過程で端子内部に浸入したシール剤が軟化してヒューズ端子の接圧が低下し、接触抵抗が増加して発熱し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ヒューズ組付部が溶損して導通不良となり、エンストして再始動できない、または、スタータマグネチックスイッチの回路が短絡して火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、スタータマグネチックスイッチを点検し、良品に交換する。また、ヒューズカプラを点検し、溶損している場合は、ワイヤハーネスを新品に交換する。
