Defect
In the engine starting system, the ignition switch contact carries excessive current, generating a large arc discharge each time the switch is activated. Repeated starting operations cause the contacts to wear excessively, reducing contact pressure. During vehicle operation, vibration causes the contacts to shift and ride up on carbonized deposits, resulting in poor electrical conductivity. In the worst case, the engine may stall suddenly without warning. Because the sliding action of the contacts during a restart clears the carbonized deposits, the engine can be restarted.
Corrective action
Replace the ignition switch on all vehicles with a corrected part.

状況
原動機の始動装置において、イグニッションスイッチの接点部に流れる電流値が大きい ため、主電源を入れる瞬間に大きなアーク放電が生じ、始動操作の繰り返しにより接点が 過度に摩耗して接触圧力が低下するため、走行時の振動等で接点が動き、炭化物に乗り上 げ導通不良となることがあり、最悪の場合、突然原動機が停止するおそれがある。 なお、始動操作で、接点が摺動し炭化物を除去するため、再始動は可能である。
改善措置
全車両、イグニッションスイッチを対策品と交換する。
