Defect
In the engine starting system, the waterproof sealant applied to the starter magnetic switch was improperly filled, allowing sealant to penetrate the terminal area where the starter magnetic switch fuse is assembled. During vehicle use, the intruded sealant softens, reducing contact pressure at the fuse terminal and increasing contact resistance, which causes heat buildup. Continued operation in this condition can cause the fuse assembly area to melt and create a poor electrical connection, resulting in engine stall with no restart capability. In the worst case, a short circuit may develop in the starter magnetic switch circuit, leading to a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all affected vehicles, inspect the starter magnetic switch and replace it with a conforming unit. Also inspect the fuse coupler; if melting is found, replace the wire harness with a new unit.

状況
エンジンの始動装置において、スタータマグネチックスイッチの防水用シール剤の充填が不適切なため、シール剤がスタータマグネチックスイッチのヒューズを組み付ける端子内部に侵入するものがある。そのため、使用過程で端子内部に侵入したシール剤が軟化してヒューズ端子の接圧が低下し、接触抵抗が増加して発熱し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ヒューズ組付部が溶損して導通不良となり、エンストして再始動できない、または、スタータマグチックスイッチの回路が短絡して火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、スタータマグネチックスイッチを点検し、良品に交換する。また、ヒューズカプラーを点検し、溶損している場合は、ワイヤーハーネスを新品に交換する。
