Filing in context
This is the only filing in the archive that cites the Other (warning lamp) as the affected component. This filing is one of 7 Subaru notifications from 2024 in this archive. For scale, 4,615 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 6 months.
Defect
On road maintenance vehicles equipped with rotating beacon lamps, an improper manufacturing process for the vehicle-mounted pull switch results in some units being assembled without grease applied to the switch contacts. Repeated switch operation causes poor electrical continuity, which may cause the rotating beacon lamp to extinguish while lit or prevent dimming from functioning.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the vehicle-mounted pull switch with a non-defective unit.
