Defect
On swap body container carrier vehicles, the rear combination lamp mounting bracket was designed with insufficient consideration of vibration loads, leaving the bracket with insufficient strength. Vibration during driving causes cracks to develop in the bracket. In the worst case, the bracket fractures and separates from the vehicle together with the rear combination lamp, creating a hazard to other traffic.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the rear combination lamp mounting bracket with the corrected part. Also inspect the rear combination lamp and, if damage is found, replace it with a new unit.
