Defect
Inadequate manufacturing controls for internal components of the rear seat belt retractor mechanism allowed shafts of an incorrect specification to be assembled into some units. When a collision occurs and the seat belt force limiter activates, the amount of belt webbing paid out may increase unintentionally, and the restraint system may fail to provide the required occupant protection performance.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the serial numbers of the left and right rear seat belts and, where applicable, replace them with conforming units.

状況
後部座席ベルトにおいて、巻取機構内部品の製造管理が不適切なため、誤った仕様のシャフトを組付けたものがある。そのため、衝突等でフォースリミッタが作動した際、ベルト引き出し量が意図せず増加して、乗員保護性能を満足しないおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、左右の後部座席ベルトの製造番号を点検し、該当する場合は良品と交換する。
