Defect
Due to inadequate work and inspection instructions at certain stages of the manufacturing process, the nuts securing the back door hinges to the body were tightened beyond the specified torque value on some vehicles. This causes the fastening bolts to deform and, in the worst case, one side of the hinge may detach, failing to meet the rigidity requirements specified under Article 18 of the Safety Standards.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the back door hinges and fastening nuts.
