Defect
On light trucks equipped with a mechanical automatic transmission, improper workmanship during the manufacturing process of the oil hose reduced the sealing performance of the hose on some units. Oil leaks from the joint between the affected hose and the oil pipe, causing shift malfunctions. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the mechanical automatic transmission oil hose with a non-defective part.
