Defect

On large trucks, (3) the power take-off (PTO) unit is improperly assembled. Adhesive residue from corrosion-prevention tape was left on the shaft surface before the belt-drive pulley was installed, resulting in insufficient torque on the pulley mounting nut. Continued use in this condition causes the mounting nut to loosen, producing abnormal noise. In the worst case, the drive pulley may detach and become a hazard to other traffic.

Corrective action

(3) On all vehicles, inspect and clean the belt-drive pulley fastening area. If the mounting nut is loose, replace the entire PTO reverse unit with a new assembly.

状況

大型トラックにおいて、 (3) 駆動力取出し装置(PTO)の組付作業が不適切なため、シャフト部の表面に防錆対策用テープの接着成分が残ったまま、ベルト駆動用プーリーが組付けられたものがある。そのため、ベルト駆動用プーリーの取付ナットの締付け力が不足し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、取付ナットが緩み異音が発生し、最悪の場合、駆動用プーリーが脱落して、他の交通の妨げになるおそれがある。

改善措置

(3) 全車両、ベルト駆動用プーリー締結部の点検・清掃を行ない、取付ナットに緩みがある場合はPTOリバースユニット一式を新品に交換する。
