Defect
On large trucks, (1) the battery hold-down plate is incorrectly shaped. When the power cable is attached to the battery terminal, the cable may contact the edge of the hold-down plate. Continued use in this condition can damage the cable insulation, causing a short circuit. In the worst case, the engine may stall while driving and cannot be restarted.
Corrective action
(1) On all vehicles, install a protective material on the edge of the battery hold-down plate. In addition, inspect the power cable and, if damage is found, apply protective material or replace the cable with a new one.

状況
大型トラックにおいて、 (1) バッテリー固定プレートの形状が不適切なため、バッテリー端子に電源ケーブルを取り付けた際、電源ケーブルが固定プレートの端部と干渉するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、電源ケーブルの被覆が損傷して短絡し、最悪の場合、走行中にエンジンが停止し、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
(1) 全車両、バッテリー固定用プレートの端部に保護材を取付ける。併せて、電源ケーブルを点検し、損傷がある場合は保護材の取付けまたは新品に交換する。
