Defect
In the front passenger airbag inflator, inadequate moisture protection of the propellant allows repeated temperature and humidity cycling to degrade the propellant over time. This may cause the inflator housing to rupture during airbag deployment.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the front passenger airbag inflator and, where the affected inflator is installed, replace it with a corrected/revised part.
