Defect
In the electric parking brake system, the operating stroke of the spring package that expands and retracts the brake drum shoes is set incorrectly. When the parking brake is released, the spring package interferes with the shoe spreader body, increasing motor load. As a result, motor current exceeds the threshold, causing the VSA system to detect an anomaly; warning lamps and warning messages illuminate, and the parking brake may fail to apply.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the left and right electric parking brake assemblies with corrected parts.

状況
電動パーキングブレーキにおいて、ドラムブレーキシューの拡張、収縮を行うためのスプリングパッケージの作動ストローク設定が不適切なため、パーキングブレーキ解除時に当該スプリングパッケージがシュースプレッダボディに干渉し、モータ負荷が高くなることがある。そのため、モータの電流値が閾値を超えてVSAが異常を検知し、警告灯、警告表示が点灯して駐車ブレーキが作動しなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、左右電動パーキングブレーキアッセンブリを対策品と交換する。
